Parks & Recreation
The Sartell area is blessed with an abundance of natural beauty. The Mississippi and Watab
Rivers flow through the middle of the city and serve as primary sources of natural beauty.
Sartell's Parks are also
primary sources of beauty and provide many active and passive recreational opportunities for youth, seniors and
families.
Sartell has 24 parks (3 are unimproved) and 17 miles of trails. The
city's trail system connects with community facilities as
they are developed. There is currently 11 acres of parkland per 1,000 residents,
which meets the City goal of 10 acres of parkland per 1,000 residents.
The City is continually challenged to keep pace with growing demands for park and
recreational facilities. For more information on the city's strategies, please visit the
Comprehensive Plan.
Park Shelter Rental
City park shelters are available to rent for to city residents. We have shelters at four
city parks. Northside Park, which is located on 12th Street North, has a covered shelter. Val Smith Park, which is
located on 1st St. NE has an enclosed shelter as does Watab Creek Park which is located on Riverside Avenue N and Pine Cone Regional Park which is located outside the Bernick's Ice Arena. The
park rentals go on sale starting the first working day in January for that year. We rent the shelters on a first come
first serve basis. Additional information and rental applications can be obtained at City Hall. Park hours are from
8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
