Welcome Letter from the Mayor Welcome to the City of Sartell!
As mayor of the city and on behalf of the city council, city staff and over 15,000 residents, I would like to extend a warm, friendly welcome to you in joining our community. As you settle into your new residence, I'm sure you will be continually pleased with your decision to make Sartell your home.
The enclosed materials have been provided for you to assist in getting to know Sartell. The information provided here will hopefully answer some of the question you may have about city operations, city policies, and what to expect in our community. You will also find information to increase your living experience with shopping, dining, celebrating and recreational opportunities.
We encourage you to become an active member of our community by attending our local events, participating in community education activities, using our parks and trails or volunteering with one of our organizations. Information about these opportunities is available in the City newsletter, on the community signs, on our broadcast local television cable Channel 19 or the city website at www.sartellmn.com. Surprisingly, you will find Sartell continues to be an actively growing community in the midst of present economic conditions. The local school district prides itself in the quality of programming it provides to students and its extended offerings. The city has poised itself for future grow by investments in a new water plant, waste water treatment expansion, transportation infrastructure and recreational amenities. Recently, new businesses have located in the medical campus and commercial development area in the south end of the city. Sartell continues to see some progress in residential housing starts, even in a very challenged market. Finally, residents can take pride in the low area property taxes, while we maintain quality services provided by the city.
I strongly encourage you to get out and explore Sartell and meet your new neighbors. If you have any further questions related to city operations, do not hesitate to contact city hall at 253-2171.
Again, welcome to Sartell!
Joe Perske Mayor
