Welcome Letter from the Fire Chief The Sartell-LeSauk Fire Department is a volunteer fire department with 29 members. We hold a Class 5 Fire protection Rating for the City and a Class 9 Fire Protection Rating for LeSauk Township, which we also serve through a contract. We have eight pieces of firefighting equipment: three pumper trucks, two tanker trucks, two brush trucks, and one air/rescue truck and a boat that is issues for emergency water rescues on the Mississippi River. We have a mutual aid agreement with 13 other neighboring cities. In this agreement, any one of the cities needing help in an emergency situation can call upon another city for assistance. This agreement has worked very well. We also back up the Sartell Police Department, Gold Cross Ambulance Service and Stearns County Sheriff. Another activity that we are involved with is Fire Prevention Week, which is the first week of October. At that time, we have a fire safety day for the kindergarten classes from the Sartell schools. We invite them to the fire department for safety classes, safety videos, and demonstrations in which the children participate. The children enjoy the time spent at the fire department and they really seem to remember what they have learned. We also do fire drills at all the Sartell schools where the students are timed on how long it takes them to safely exit the school buildings. In closing, we again welcome you to the city of Sartell, and if we can be of any help to you, please let up know! Sincerely,
