Tax Levy
for City Services
For
2008, a Sartell resident with a home value of $200,000 paid about $50
per month in City taxes. Your overall tax bill also includes taxes
to the County, School District and other taxing jurisdictions. Think about how that City tax bill compares with some other common monthly services such as your monthly cable TV bill, monthly health club membership, monthly electric bill or monthly cell phone plan.
For less than what you pay for most of those other services, the City provides:
* Fire and Police protection, including criminal prosecution, patrol,
and community-oriented policing such as neighborhood watch and the PAL
program
* Street sweeping, plowing and maintenance
* Maintenance of public facilities, buildings, trails and accesses
* Parks, playgrounds, pools and skating rinks
* Elections, property valuations, and a variety of other required services
